With more than 18 years of critical care experience, Gail began by specializing in intensive care units prior to an air medical transport experience igniting her interest in aviation medicine. She went on to receive specialized training, including a private pilot’s license, and established Angels of Flight in 1988. The company’s focus on specialized training and global service distinguishes it in the air medical industry. Gail’s leadership today propels the company’s international growth and dedication to patient care, safety, and education worldwide.
Having overcome tremendous hurdles as a female chief in a male-dominated field, Gail was forced to fight to establish her space at the table, she remembers. From dealing with banking matters to representing one of the few women in aviation leadership, the path has been difficult but empowering. She encourages women future leaders in patriarchal industries to “surround yourself with helpful networks and never be afraid to break new ground.” Angels of Flight Canada Inc. continues innovating under her leadership, joining medical science and aviation knowledge in creating new standards and offering unique healthcare services internationally.
