Closomat, the wash and dry toilet manufacturer, has launched Pathway 1.0, a new clinical specification tool built to help healthcare professionals assess, specify and recommend toileting solutions with greater speed and consistency, while keeping clinical judgement central to every decision.
Developed with guidance from The Occupational Therapy Service and Closomat’s own team, Pathway 1.0 gives occupational therapists a structured, evidence-informed approach to identifying the right toileting solution based on a person’s functional needs, home environment and level of independence.
The digital tool cuts down time spent researching options and improves consistency across equipment recommendations, producing clear, justifiable specifications for commissioners and funding bodies.
Therapists using Pathway 1.0 work through a series of structured clinical questions covering functional abilities, clinical presentation, home environment and toileting needs.
Based on the responses, the tool identifies the most suitable Closomat solution and generates a tailored specification, complete with product configuration and an indicative budget estimate, supporting funding applications, commissioning discussions and installation planning.
