Background
Hong Kong brought thousands of healthcare professionals, investors, and innovators under one roof as it hosted two of its biggest health events this year. The sixth Asia Summit on Global Health and the 17th Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair both took place as part of International Healthcare Week.
The Summit pulled in close to 3,000 attendees spanning 43 countries and regions. The conference covered three main topics, which included public health discussions, current healthcare technologies, artificial intelligence, investment patterns and the rapidly expanding silver health industry. The event operated under the theme “Fuelling Healthcare Breakthroughs.” Senior health officials, Nobel laureates, top investors, and company executives all took part, sharing ideas on where global healthcare is headed.
Businesses got active too. More than 400 face-to-face matching sessions connected investors and healthcare firms from Europe, the United States, Asia, and the Greater Bay Area. A dedicated showcase brought together 180 health innovation companies from 12 countries, displaying breakthroughs in biotech, digital health, and medical technology.
The Medical Fair ran alongside the Summit and attracted 13,000 buyers from 61 markets. Its theme, “Innovations Boosting Smart Health Experience,” kept the focus on medical technology, aging solutions, and preventive care. Smart aging and green product exhibitors doubled compared to last year. In total, 300 exhibitors from 10 countries took part.
The Hong Kong government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council jointly organised both events. Between them, the two gatherings produced over 1,000 new collaborations and business connections, reinforcing Hong Kong’s place as a serious player in global healthcare investment and innovation.
